Accessibility on leonardocentre.org site
This statement applies to content published on leonardocentre.org website. It does not apply to content on any external websites or apps we may feature a link to.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- The display of all content is optimised for all screen sizes.
- Skip to main content links are present
- Text resizing is enabled.
- Colour contrasts meet the WCAG 2.1AA ratio of 4.5:1 minimum.
- Video captions, transcriptions and audio descriptions enabled where applicable.
- Most content types or features that have been optimised to meet accessibility such as accordions, slideshow/carousels, tables and tabs.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible the website is
Parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:
- some tables do not have row headers.
- some heading elements are not consistent.
- some images do not have good alternative text
- some buttons are not correctly identified
- some error messages are not clearly associated with form controls
What we do about known issues
We work to achieve and maintain WCAG 2.1 AA standards, but it is not always possible for all our content to be accessible. Where content is not accessible, we will state a reason, warn users and offer alternatives.
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Imperial College Business School Leonardo Centre is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the known issues listed below.
Non accessible content
The content that is not accessible is outlined below with details of:
Landing page features 5 Legends, the labels of these are not unique, therefore screen readers may find these confusing.
Colour contrast is mainly good apart from the home tab under “Key features of dataset” green on white ratio is not meeting the requirements.
Under Glossary Tab, “select glossary category” element does not have an accessible name. Screen reader users may not be able to use this function.
Focus order is not correct.
Some documents and content are exempt from the regulations (such as live video content and PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services), so we do not currently have any plans to make them accessible. But if you need to access information in one of these document types, you can contact us and ask for an alternative format.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Select name: Glossary page select glossary category element is missing a unique name. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 success criterion. We plan to fix this by identifying a unique and clear name for the element by the 30th of April 2024.
Aria-required children: Dashboard page has 5 legends which are list boxes, these are not clearly announced by the screen readers nor are they uniquely labelled. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 success criterion. We plan to fix this by identifying an appropriate label for the list boxes by the 30th of April 2024.
Info and relationships: The headers on the Table on the dashboard page are missing, and columns are not announced when screen reader is in use. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 success criterion. We plan to fix this by identifying more descriptive headers for the Table by the 30th of April 2024.
Focus Order; Mainly on Dashboard page the focus order does not follow left to right, top to bottom header first then main navigation then page navigation then footer order. When users tab through elements -screen readers or otherwise- they will not be able to follow the order that the visual layout conveys. We plan to fix this by reviewing the current HTML structure and rearrange the HTML elements to follow a logical left-to-right, top-to-bottom order. We plan to fix this by the 30th of April 2024.
